JIRANGA  (CHANDRAGIRI)

 About Jiranga ::   Jiranga is located labarsing panchayat of mohana block in Gajapati district. It is 104 kms from Berhampur and 85 kms from Paralakhemundi. It is a buddhist temple and also called the padma sambhav mahavihar, which has the highest altitude in south Asia. History shows that when china invaded Tibet in 1959,about 85000 Tibetans and 14th Dalai lama fled to India as refugees. The Indian government has relocated them to six camps, One of which is Jiranga. The 21-foot tall buddha statue was inaugurated in 2010 by Dalai lama.  Here you can see many Buddhist as well as their way of life. School and hostel facilities are also provided for children who come here to study. In this area you will find a lot of maize cultivation which is their main livelihood. The art of the temple and the interior will captivate you. Must go for walk with the family once. 

 KHASADA WATERFALL::

If you go Jiranga don't forget to check out khasada waterfall. It is small Waterfall that is located 6 kms from Jiranaga temple. Here you can enjoy forest party with bath. The water of this spring, which flows at the foot of the hill is very cold. so be careful when you bath because the surrounding rocks are littered with rocks that are more likely to slip. The sound of the fountains and the quiet surroundings of the mountain will fascinate you. 

HOW TO GO :: If you go jiranga you have to must reserve a private Texi, which is very easy to get from Berhampur and paralakhemundi. The nearest railway station is Berhampur and Nearest bus stand mohana. Nearest airport is Bhubaneswar. 

WHEN TO GO :: Jiranga you can come at any time of the  year. if you are coming on rainy day, there may be some traffic problems because roads is very draft and not wide. winter is the best season for visit this place.
